A special young man

Charlie sadly passed on 6 June 2025, 11 months after being diagnosed with diffuse midline glioma (DMG) - a rare and aggressive brain cancer affecting children and young adults.

We’ve been inundated by kind and warm messages of support and appreciate your kindness, flowers, help and gifts.

Many of you have asked whether you could contribute in different ways.

We’ve set up this page to help direct donations to the two organisations that we feel helped Charlie, and need our help the most:

• Professor Ziegler’s research in finding effective treatments for childhood cancers, and in particular DMG; and

• Manly’s AYAH (adolescent young adult hospice) Australia’s first dedicated service for young people with life-limiting illness.
